Requirements for Pennsylvania Remote Online Notaries
Before performing online notarizations, Pennsylvania notaries are required to notify the Department of State of their intent to:
- Perform notarial acts involving electronic records, and
- Perform notarial acts for remotely located individuals using approved communication technology.
As part of this notice, notaries must identify the RON platform they intend to use. ProNotary is listed as one of the approved providers and is fully compliant with Pennsylvania’s requirements for secure, identity-verified online notarization.
