Remote Online notarization is a notarial act performed by an online notary by means of two-way video and audio conference technology that meets the standards adopted by the Secretary of State for such actions including credential analysis and identity proofing.

Fully Managed SaaS RON Solution for Businesses and Individuals
Pro Notary is a fully managed solution that allows the signer to appear before the notary over a live audio-video feed when executing digital documents. Remote Online Notarization is a new technology-driven process that does not require any software installation nor additional browser plugins on behalf of the user.
The entire RON process can be broken down into four simple steps:
Step 1 is identity verification that requires all signing parties to pass knowledge-based authentication prior to a system performed credential ID test. A user's ID can consist of a driver's license, a government issued photo ID or passport.
Step 2 is the actual audio-video conference where the notary and signer meet virtually to talk to each other over a webcam in real-time. During this step the notary will observe all necessary digital signatures by the signer and will apply appropriate notarial certificates and seals to the digital document(s).
Step 3 is tamper proofing the executed digital documents with a date/time-stamp digital certificate. This certificate will identify whether any of the documents are altered in the future.
Step 4 is the audit trail and notarial records that are required to be kept to prove who actually digitally signed the document(s).
